Success! Blood Drive and Snack Sale bring in much needed funds!

January 28, 2010

After two days of hard work, the students of A&V have fundraised over a $1,000 with the Blood Drive and Snack Sale.  We are very excited!!!

Students donated blood, food, time and money to support our cause.  They wanted to know more about A&V and the artists for this year’s exhibition.  Many were eager to help with no incentive.

A&V students put in a lot of effort and definitely appreciated the help they received.

Special thanks to Jenesis Negron who organized the Blood Drive and to Belinda Salinas who organized the Snack Sale.

Blood Drive and Snack Sale at FIU

January 23, 2010

Join us at the A&V Blood Drive and Snack Sale on January 26th and 27th, 2010 located at FIU’s Modesto A. Maidique Campus right in front of the bookstore.  Student-curators will be out in force from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

For every blood donor, A&V will receive $10 towards it’s art exhibition at the Frost Art Museum taking place March 9th – April 18th.  As a sign of appreciation, donors will receive an $8 meal card.

If donating blood makes you nauseous, support A&V by buying from our snack sale right across from the blood drive.  We’ll have empanadas, pizza, cookies, brownies and much more.

Want to know how you can continue to support A&V?  You can download the 2010 Sponsorship Guide under the Donations section on the website.

We’ll see you at FIU!

Considered as the pioneer of the  so-called “Miami model”, the Rubell Family Collection has opened its doors to Aesthetics & Values students. The current exhibition is “Beg, Borrow, and Steal.” and it will be displayed until May 29, 2010. Many thanks to Director Juan Valadez for guiding the tour and making it a memorable experience.
