A&V 2010 installation today!

Come and visit us in the The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum as the exhibition comes together. Thank you to Dean Lesley Northup, Director and Chief Curator Carol Damian, and all of the artists: Baxter, Cortada, Guerra de la Paz, Haden, Rodriguez, Stecca, TM Sisters, Trombly, Wischer, and Zulueta.

This year the A&V exhibition will take place from March 9th – April 18th at the Frost Art Museum. The artist that will be presenting their work are:

After two days of hard work, the students of A&V have fundraised over a $1,000 with the Blood Drive and Snack Sale.  We are very excited!!!

Students donated blood, food, time and money to support our cause.  They wanted to know more about A&V and the artists for this year’s exhibition.  Many were eager to help [...]

Join us at the A&V Blood Drive and Snack Sale on January 26th and 27th, 2010 located at FIU’s Modesto A. Maidique Campus right in front of the bookstore.  Student-curators will be out in force from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Considered as the pioneer of the  so-called “Miami model”, the Rubell Family Collection has opened its doors to Aesthetics & Values students. The current exhibition is “Beg, Borrow, and Steal.” and it will be displayed until May 29, 2010. Many thanks to Director Juan Valadez for guiding the tour and making it a memorable experience.

It was decided today, by the suggestion of the A&V Alumni Advisory Board, that the class should create a formal club under the Council of Student Organizations.

Today we will be having our last A&V class for the semester, and I’m certain a lot will be covered. There is so much to do to prepare for the exhibition that I’m sure many of us will be working on one thing or another over the winter break.
